Racial Issues in Today's World

This problem probably represents one of the oldest of conflicts with which humanity as a whole must face. It goes deep into our psyches, our “racial memory” and is at the core of so many of humanities current problems. The best we can do now is to deal with it politically by regulating it. We have the wisdom of the ancients right as close as our own hearts but do we practice it? The headlines in today’s papers speak volumes to a serious lack of will let alone desire to overcome it. What progress have we made in healing such deep chasms between Jews, Blacks, Whites, Europeans, Asians, Africans, Aborigines, Eskimos, English, French, Northerners, Southerners, etc? We are so into our polarities that we have invented different political, cultural and religious divisions to fight against each other. Vast wars have raped entire continents because one race or group couldn’t stand the other. To this very day, Jews are fighting with Blacks in New York, Palestinians with Israelis, Muslims with Croats, skin heads against different racial groups, etc..

By the very fact of separation and division indicates a healing cannot take place. The healing is practiced goodwill, tolerance and mutual respect leading ultimately to oneness. When and how will this finally come about? Definitely not easily but there are signs that reconciliation is taking place in many quarters.

It heartens me to be able to report that there is a definite movement in the direction of inclusiveness on the part of key Aboriginal elders and wise men happening currently here in Northern NSW. The spiritual place holder for the Bungalung Aboriginal Nation has issued an invitation to the people of the world to accompany him on a journey of discovery into the spiritual 'Dreamtime', the sacred knowing of his people and their understanding of the oneness of humanity and their connection to the earth. This service is offered as an opportunity for people to connect across cultural and racial lines with no distinction between class, race or nationality, in the spirit of mutual respect and acceptance. I can provide further details if it is deemed appropriate within this forum.
