Freedom and Spiritual Security

An afternoon of talks, discussion and meditation focusing on the purpose of freedom, and on practical ways of expanding freedom in every field -- political, religious, cultural, etc., thus creating a world of greater spiritual security.

Rev. Peter van Breda Freedom and World Advancement Peter van Breda has worked as a priest for the last 35 years, in Germany, South Africa and the UK. He encountered the work of Rudolf Steiner in the late sixties, and since that time has been an avid student of Anthroposophy. He is convinced that the future of all civilisation depends on the degree to which science, art and religion can find a fruitful balance, and that this balance can only be found when the true picture of man is re-established out of an understanding of the spirit that dwells in us and through us.

Dr. Corinne Kumar The Spring towards Freedom: Listening to the Voices of the Silenced Corinne Kumar is Secretary General of El Taller International, a Tunisian based International NGO with over 500 partner organisations particularly in the global south. El Taller seeks to be a space for reflection, exchange and networking for a wide spectrum of civil society organisations and social movements. She is also a founding member of the Asian Women’s Human Rights Council – a network of human rights groups in the Asia Pacific region – and founder of the International Courts of Women. She describes herself as a pilgrim of life – sometimes a philosopher, poet, human rights theoretician and activist.

Dr. Kumar considers that the revolution in January not only brought freedom to Tunisia but also ushered in the Arab Spring and the insurrection of hope. In this moment of revolution, she is working to capture and hold through word, song, poetry, dance, art and other creative expressions, the aspirations of the children in a project called The Dreams of a Thousand and One Flowers.

There is no charge for admission. This event is funded entirely by donations so your contributions are most welcome.

World Goodwill is an activity of the Lucis Trust, a registered educational charity. The Lucis Trust is on the Roster of the UN Economic and Social Council.
